Ok, it’s not official….yet! But unless the pre-teen female gender goes rampant for four hours texting votes for Blake like the little maniacs they are, Jordin should win this going away. The main reason is obvious. Blake is a performer. A visual artist that requires your eyes be focused on his mixed bag of tricks. Which, by the way, ARE entertaining. But, take away the visual and imagine yourself cruising down the road listening to the radio. His voice is not compelling enough to capture your ear and prevent you from switching stations. He’d just come off like another whiney white boy. Jordin, however, would be as commanding as a Whitney or Mariah.. or Christina. CERTAINLY more than a Britney!
In the world of pop music it’s all about sales. If Jordin does win and they write the proper music for her powerhouse vocals ( in other words, don’t try sexing her up or some other lame ass re-packaging ) then I have every reason to believe she will be THE next diva as Whitney is all but gone and Mariah’s stuff is yesterday’s news. Christina has tramped herself into a specific audience of hip-hoppers and junior gangstas. The music world is ready for a fresh faced and modest representative of the people’s choice.
Now, on Blake. I’m certain that with the right producers and vision that Blake should wind up as a top draw act in a place like Vegas where he has a big entourage of backup singers/dancers and a tight band to showcase his beatbox talents and showmanship. No kidding. He could make a run like a Celine or other main attraction there. Go get’em Blake!
